XL Specialized Trailers XL 110 Low-Profile HDG 18-Inch Deck Height Lowboy Provides Solutions for Low Bridges and Tall Equipment

A market-leading manufacturer of custom-engineered heavy haul trailers, XL Specialized Trailers XL 110 Low-Profile Hydraulic Detachable Gooseneck (HDG) features an 18-inch loaded main deck height and 6-inch ground clearance to help operators meet bridge clearance laws without needing a drop-side or beam-deck. The hydraulic detachable lowboy features a payload capacity of 110,000 pounds in 16 feet concentrated, making it a versatile option for hauling construction equipment.

This XL 110 Low-Profile HDG offers maximum swing radius, deck length, and axle spacing in a 53-foot-long trailer. The lowered rear bridge bolster height between the tires provides the ability to lower machine height when loading on the rear bridge. The main deck boasts a 12-inch cross-member spacing for additional support under the Apitong wood deck and a full 26 feet in the well. Standard on the XL 110 Low-Profile HDG main deck is seven bent D-rings per side, 13 chain drops per side, and swing-out outriggers adding versatility for tying down loads of various widths and shapes.

Featuring a 13-foot long detachable hydraulic gooseneck, the XL 110 has a 51-inch fifth wheel height, 110-inch and 84-inch swing clearance, with 16-inch and 42-inch kingpin settings. These settings allow operators the ability to slide the tractor’s fifth wheel where needed to achieve the required axle weights. The gooseneck’s five-position variable ride height offers the ability to adjust the neck’s fifth wheel height and deck height depending on the load being carried and the tractor being used.

Equipped with a deep boom well specifically designed for excavator booms, the XL 110 Low-Profile HDG 18-inch eliminates the need to detach the lower boom section on an excavator. The bucket well in the rear deck easily accommodates excavator knuckles and the lowered rear angle from the deck to the wheel area allows for easier loading of equipment over the rear deck. This trailer is also spreader bar and power booster capable, making it one of the few 55-ton, 18-inch loaded deck height, and 3+1 axle capable lowboy trailers on the market. Other standard features of this trailer are 54½-inch axle spacing, a third axle airlift, a suspension override hand raising/lowering valve, and five ride height settings. Available options include bolt-on load-bearing wheel covers, fenders on the gooseneck, amber strobe taillight, and a 13 HP Honda power unit.

XL Specialized Trailers will exhibit the XL 110 HDG 18-inch Deck Height trailer at the Mid-America Trucking Show, March 26-28 in booth No. 16212 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky. “This trailer model has been on the road for about a year now, and has quickly become a customer favorite,” said Rodney Crim, XL’s Vice President of Sales. “We are constantly striving to come up with solutions for our customers’ trailer needs, and this product certainly fits that mold.”
