XL Specialized Trailers Showcases Versatile Construction Multi-axle at the Great American Trucking Show

XL Specialized Trailers, a market-leading manufacturer of heavy haul and specialized trailers, is exhibiting a custom spec 60 Ton Low-Profile HDG 2+3+2 — at the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas, August 23-25. XL Specialized Trailers is exhibiting in Booth 14099.

The versatile and innovative XL 120 Low-Profile HDG (hydraulic detachable gooseneck) 2+3+2 features a 2-axle jeep, a 60-ton HDG, and a 2-axle booster. With a low-profile upper deck and a flip neck design, the new XL 120 HDG trailer can accommodate multiple truck and equipment sizes and handle loads up to 120,000 lbs distributed. Designed for the construction market, its custom features allow contractors to max out to that 120,000 lbs payload every haul. The trailer boasts the longest main deck possible while keeping a legal overall length of 53’.

The custom XL 120 Low-Profile HDG features an extra-long 28’ deck and an 8’ bucket well which allows for even load distribution on all axles. The main deck has a 24” loaded deck height, 8” of ground clearance, and 1-3/4” raised Apitong decking, and a 4’ toolbox with drain holes. It features upper flange reinforcement, full-depth removable swingout outriggers, and 15 bent d-rings per side.

There are two flip necks for the 11’ low-profile gooseneck; one 44” extension for over the truck, and one 84” extension for use with the jeep. The neck boasts 4 position variable ride height, 83” swing clearance, and a 13HP Honda unit. Its low-profile design is ideal for hauling scrapers and excavators.

The custom XL 120 Low-Profile HDG has a 14’ rear deck and a rear transition with a 32-degree slope. The detachable wheel area compensates for the deflection, keeping the loaded deck height sound when the jeep is not being used. There are scraper-style bolsters on the first two axles; the third axle is open to accommodate the third axle airlift.

PSI inflation system, slack adjusters, upgraded brake chambers, and battery backup keep maintenance costs down. Extra mid-turn lights and a 3+5+3 taillight package with amber strobe increase visibility.
