Our Company

XL Specialized Trailers is a leading designer and manufacturer of highly engineered and customized trailers for applications in the heavy haul trucking, construction, agriculture, wind energy, and oil & gas industries. Founded in 1995 by George Wall, XL is headquartered in Manchester Iowa. The company is a leader in the heavy haul industry—and is growing quickly. XL employs hundreds of team members at its facilities in Manchester. Artisan craftspeople make up the bulk of its workforce: Welders, Machinists, Fabricators, Painters, and Final Assemblers. In line with its strategy, the company is planning for expansion, and/or acquisition, in the foreseeable future. Over 85% of XL's trailers are sold through a dealer network with the balance being via national accounts. XL is a wholly owned division of Bull Moose Industries, a privately owned diversified industrial company owned by the Caparo Group.
